In April, Commonwealth Prevention Alliance Executive Director Jeff Hanley visited the PPG Paints Arena Media Studios to record an interview with NHL legend and former Pittsburgh Penguin Kevin Stevens and Andy Bernstein about addiction, stigma, and the importance of prevention.

Kevin Stevens, who is in recovery from addiction, hosts a radio program called Power Forward that works to support people struggling with substance use disorders.

The interview aired in Pittsburgh on April 6 and is available for on-demand streaming at powerforward25.com.

“For me, the top thing that we can do is prevention,” said Kevin Stevens.

Jeff Hanley agreed. “When an overdose epidemic happens, people are always talking about treatment and recovery, and funneling money towards that…but prevention can’t get lost. We have to be able to continue to fund prevention,” he said.

At the studio, Jeff took a moment to admire the Penguins’ trophy collection.
